After more than 40 successful years of being at the forefront of the “green” architecture and Circular Economy movements, William McDonough + Partners closed in 2025. Through William McDonough’s visionary leadership, our values-driven design firm created pioneering architecture and many recognized flagships of sustainable design. WM+P extends its deepest gratitude to the clients who trusted us with their ambitions, the collaborators and partners who shared in our pursuit of better ways to design and build, and above all, the extraordinarily talented people who brought their creativity, dedication, and passion to the firm over the years.

As architects, we saw the opportunity to solve environmental challenges through design. We created the Cradle to Cradle Design™ Framework as a positive, hopeful vision of a world of abundance, allowing us to design humane buildings, spaces and experiences that create “more good” for the world, not just “less bad.”
