This month, the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute became an affiliate member of The Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circular Economy 100 program. This program is a global platform which brings leading companies together as well as emerging innovators and regions, which aims to accelerate the transition into a circular economy.
Both the Institute and the Foundation share an “underpinning philosophy” with Cradle to Cradle® design, which was co-developed by William McDonough and Michael Braungart. Both McDonough and Braungart are members of the Foundation’s Independent Experts Advisory Panel. William McDonough has a close relationship with both the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and The Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
President of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Bridgett Luther stated, “We are confident that Institute and its growing community of companies with certified products can make important contributions to the acceleration of the CE 100’s work to collectively solve problems, share best practices, and build capacity for positive impact.”
