Michelle Amt’s project experience is international in scope covering a wide range of project scales and types from community planning to building design. She combines a talent for critical inquiry with outstanding communication and project management skills. Amt’s talent for clear and systematic communication enables the successful transfer of complex theoretical knowledge to a highly diverse audience. This skill allows for the successful realization of the powerful cradle to cradle design concepts into built form.
Amt has made considerable contributions to the development of the Community Design studio, where her unique capacities have been instrumental in translating the firm’s eco-effective architectural strategies into the language of planning and urban design. She has significant experience in developing integrated concepts and approaches for ecologically intelligent housing.
Her current architecture projects include a library for Fuller Theological Seminary and the School of International Service at American University. She recently completed Housing Development Standards for the cradle to cradle community, Hali'imaile on the island of Maui for Maui Land & Pineapple.
