Sustainable Facility Guidelines Global
William McDonough + Partners was engaged by a large, privately-held international corporation to develop sustainable facility guidelines as part of a company-wide effort to integrate sustainability into all aspects of their operations. The value of these guidelines was seen as multifold: at their most basic level, guidelines would increase efficiencies and reduce waste across facilities, thereby reducing operational costs. More importantly, the corporation’s leaders felt that the greatest challenges in the coming generation were to attract young talent and to strengthen customer goodwill toward their products. Guidelines for creating sustainable facilities and practices were viewed as helping the corporation become even more attractive to their customers and their employees, both now and in the future.
